Get Your College Admissions, Right Here!

For a high schooler, finding the right college can be an overwhelming task. For many, it's one of the first major choices a person makes that shapes where they live, whom they are around, and what they learn as an adult. A long time friend of mine, Liz Baxter, in Cincinnati, OH has started a college advising firm College Connection, aimed at helping high schoolers get what they want out of their college search and application process, and I'd thought I'd write about her advising services.

About Liz

Liz worked in Miami University's undergraduate admissions department in Oxford, Ohio before starting her advising firm. Before working at Miami she attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where she earned an M.Ed. and B.A, and attended high school at Cincinnati Country Day School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She now owns and runs College Connection. The map below has more complete details about all where she has studied and lived.

Why College Connection?

Why consider College Connection, beyond Mrs. Baxter's academic and career qualifications? A big reason is that Liz is independent. Speaking with a counselor unassociated with your educational institution can be a very different experience than speaking with your assigned college counselor. Further getting into college is competitive and much more than grades and standardized test scores, it's more about what the candidate has accomplished both inside and outside academics. Liz can advise you on how to tell that story and help you view your achievements from the lense of an admissions staff member. Finally, many students have one specifc university in mind, but need help finding more than one college to apply to. Liz can help you make great decisions with that, too.

More and more Americans are choosing to go to College instead of special skilled schools or entering the workforce after high school. About 14.4 million students are enrolled across the United States today. So college is more and more relevant to many. It's a service many high schooler's will want and need and wish her all the best in her endavour to help students find the right college for them.

College Connection also has a blog that you can read to get a better feel for Liz Baxter and her consulting firm.
